The famous Vegan Lifestyle................

The Vegan Style or Veganism

A little bit of history:

The vegan lifestyle or as they say veganism came from the English word veganism, is recent although some poets and philosophers already defended vegetarianism but veganism emerged as an ethical way and a true philosophy of life.
People who follow this type of diet or lifestyle are called vegans and are characterized by totally eliminating foods of animal origin from their diet.

According to wikipedia, veganism was started by Donald Watson (September 2, 1910 - November 16, 2005), founder of the Vegan Society and inventor of the word 'vegan'. He was born in Mexborough, a mining town in South Yorkshire (England), in a family where everyone ate meat. He became a vegetarian on New Year's Day 1924.

We will mention 2 types of Veganism:

Dietetic Veganism

This could be considered a sub-type of vegetarian diet in which all foods of animal origin are avoided.
This is also called strict veganism because of its style, since it does not allow the consumption of eggs, honey or dairy products.

This type includes those who follow a strict vegan diet but reject any kind of exploitation of animals for the sole benefit of humans.

Advantages:

1- It helps us to lose weight and keep it under control.
2- By consuming more fiber our body is purified naturally.
3- It has been proven to help in the prevention of breast, colon and stomach cancer.
4- Not consuming animal fats decreases the probability of developing cardiovascular disease.
5- If we consume more cereals, vegetables and fruits our body allows a better control over diabetes.

Disadvantages:

1- Micronutrients such as vitamins B-12 and D, calcium, omega-3 fatty acids, iron and zinc are obtained from meat and dairy products and, of course, eggs, and by not consuming them we run the risk of suffering a deficiency of these nutrients.
2- When going out of the house we run the risk of not finding restaurants or bars that include in their menus or menus dishes that are totally vegan.
3- At the beginning, going to the supermarket becomes a chaos because you will have to carefully read the labels of what you are going to buy before consuming.

We can get a little confused by the similarity of the concepts, but there really is an important difference between the two. The main thing is that a person who is vegetarian can consume mostly vegetables and animal products such as eggs, honey, fish and others, while vegans do not consume any product of animal origin or that has been used animals for their production.

Recommendations:

To avoid risk of disease when starting a vegan lifestyle, it is advisable to go to a specialist in the area to help us to start safely and thus avoid health complications in the long term.
Remember that you have to research well and be sure that this lifestyle is the one you really need.

Tell me do you lead or would you lead this lifestyle?
