What to know about the famous Keto Diet or Ketogenic Diet............

The famous keto diet or ketogenic diet:

First let's talk a little about the origin and meaning of this highly acclaimed and as many call it miracle diet.

The ketogenic diet, this term was coined by Russell M Wilder (1885-1959) in 1921, Russell alludes to a therapeutic intervention whose objective is to generate a situation of ketosis something very similar to fasting. It can also be achieved either by a reduction in the intake of foods rich in sugar or carbohydrate foods.

The amount of carbohydrates in a ketogenic diet is usually well below that recommended in a normal diet.
The different amounts of carbohydrates in the keto diet are divided into 3 categories:

Low carb keto: less than 20 grams of carbohydrates per day.
Moderate low carb 20-50 grams per day.
Low carb liberal 50-100 grams per day.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Keto Diet

                        Advantages:

With the release of ketone bodies, appetite decreases a lot, which further increases weight loss because proteins have a high satiating power.

*The weight loss is achieved mostly in fat since, as several studies have shown, the muscle mass remains intact, this does not usually occur with other types of diets.

*Another great advantage is that it increases insulin sensitivity and lowers blood sugar levels, which is something positive for people suffering from diabetes.

Disadvantages:

*It offers little contribution of vitamins, minerals and fiber that these diets ensure since the consumption of fruits and vegetables is greatly restricted to achieve the aforementioned state of ketosis.

*It is not recommended for people with hepatic or cardiac problems, since there are cases in which it has caused the development of arrhythmias, since it has caused constipation.

*Another of the consequences that usually appears is the bad breath which is produced by the increase of ketone bodies in the organism and in several people usually have tiredness and fatigue when eliminating in great magnitude the carbohydrates.

If you have tried this diet, tell us about your experience..............
